EL TESTIMONIO DE CAROLINA RODRÍGUEZ

Bajo el calor del hogar de un pastor y su esposa en la ciudad de Cali Colombia, nació Carolina Rodrígez, un testimonio de amor y fidelidad. Pero en la vida de esta salmista llena de historias donde la fé fue la protagonista principal; Carolina se adentrará en un campo minado de duda, la cual comprobará las bases de esta mujer y sentará nuevos preceptos en su concepción de la vida. 

Cuando en una entrevista realizada para el proyecto VOCES DE PROPÓSITO se le preguntó a la salmista acerca de cómo había sido su primer encuentro con Dios, fue inevitable que una prominente sonrisa fuera dibujada en su rostro al recordar dos etapas donde había experimentado el amor de él como nunca antes. “Mi primer encuentro con Dios a mí me gusta dividirlo en dos partes: primero a los cuatro años cuando recibí al señor Jesús por primera vez y entendí que estaba dentro de mí corazón. Y luego a los seis años él se presenta a mi vida y me habla… me habla sobre mi nombre, me coloca un apodo… fue un momento que marcó mi vida para siempre y me dió una identidad”.

Aquel encuentro no sería el último encuentro que Carolina tendría con Dios, pues la situación que le esperaba en las puertas de la adolescencia la habrían de sumergir en un mar plagado de dudas con respecto a su fe, sin embargo aquella experiencia que había vivido con Dios a muy temprana edad, sería más fuerte que cualquier cuestionamiento. A pesar de todo la salmista narró que hubo en su vida un antes y un después existente aún en su relación con Dios  “Cuando tengo 18 años empiezo a conocer al señor de una forma muy diferente. El se empieza a revelar a mi en diferentes facetas y capas de mi vida en el diario vivir. y allí pude cambiar. Ya no era sólo que él me había dicho cuando tenía seis años, hace tanto tiempo, sino que lo tenía todos los días. Todos los días tenía algo del señor. entonces de allí comencé a involucrarlo todos mis temas; amistades, cómo me siento, identidad… Absolutamente todo ”

En este testimonio podemos observar como Dios a pesar de posiblemente haberlo conocido, o en el caso de Carolina, haber sido impartido por nuestros padres. Dios procura todos los días encontrar cultivar una relación de padre e hijo con nosotros, no de abuelo a nieto. Y por otro lado Él busca de nosotros que lo convirtamos en algo cotidiano en nuestra vida, no solo una experiencia sobrenatural, sino, que nuestra vida sea algo sobrenatural.

“the number one way to understand how you were made, how you were created. Is to go to the source”

The questions posed to content creator Shane Gerhard, which continued the interview where he shared his testimony regarding his identity found through “A POWERFUL ENCOUNTER” and his comparison of the before and after of his life with God, served as a preamble to now understand what his PURPOSE would be and how it would CHANGE his life.

In response to the question, “Knowing your identity, how did you find out your purpose?”, Gerhard compared, through a metaphor, how that process was: “If you have an iPhone… and you are encountering an issue with the phone, you’re gonna Google the question. And you’re gonna see two different links: one from a forum, and then you are going to see a post right below that is from Apple Support. Now, a lot of us tend to go to the forum link and see what our friends or other people try to fix the problem, saying, ‘Hey, this is the issue,’ but they only have suggestions from their own perspective. The number one way to understand how you were made, how you were created, is to go to the source. So the best source for figuring out issues with my iPhone is to go to Apple Support.”

What he means by this metaphor is that sometimes we want to find out our purpose by asking our friends, family, and other people (“a lot of us tend to go to the forum link and see what our friends or other people try to fix the problem”). But if we really want to find out why we were created, it is necessary to turn to and ask the one who created us, since the best source for finding out information regarding our being, among other things, is our operating system (“the number one way to understand how you were made, how you were created, is to go to the source. So the best source for figuring out issues with my iPhone is to go to Apple Support”).

“Now, there are actually a few different purposes that we live in. There’s a purpose that regards our dominion mandate, the purpose that God gave to ALL MANKIND. And then there’s the individual purpose, that is different for everyone,” Gerhard adds, eager to inform about some of the different purposes that exist. But to understand the general purpose of the unique purpose (the reason we exist), Shane continues his conversation, narrating that it was necessary for him to approach the presence of God and ask for revelation regarding what was inside him, what he was (you were) created for, Gerhard insisted.

It was necessary to ask oneself what things he (you) is (are) passionate about, what he (you) thinks about constantly, and the most important question: What has been a constant theme or message in my life over the years that always returns?

WHAT CONSEQUENCES DOES DISCOVERING OUR PURPOSE HAVE?

“When you discover your purpose, when you understand what you are here on earth to do, it changes all of your decisions,” affirmed Shane.

Discovering that purpose directs you on how you should live, as he refers to the fact that when we discover our purpose, we become kings and queens. It is known that a monarch is characterized by possessing dominion and influence over a territory; dominion only exists when there is territory, so the goal is to learn where that influence lies in my life.

Therefore, when we understand our dominion and our abilities, we can love more, we can rejoice in the achievements of others, and we can understand that the timing of our operating system will always be different from that of other people. Thus, envy and hatred diminish inversely proportional to the success of my purpose.
